vBulletin Developer Tracker (DevTracker)

I’ve created a Developer Tracker (DevTracker) for vBulletin. A developer tracker basically lets you create a “devgroup” of usergroups and then view all the posts made by those users. Originally created for FreddysHouse I’ve decided to release it into the wild.

I don’t intend on providing a great deal of support for it, but I’ll try to answer any questions that are asked here. Installation is simple, just upload the files in the “upload” directory to your vBulletin installation and import the product’s XML file.

Two settings are added to the standard vBulletin Options, these deal with caching for the devtracker. A couple of templates are automatically imported and also a number of phrases.

No manual code edits or edits to vBulletin files are needed.

To create a devgroup just go to the DevTracker Manager from the vBulletin Admin Control Panel and follow the onscreen information. The “tag” is used as part of the URL and so it should be letters and numbers only.

You can then view the devtracker by clicking on the tag in the DevTracker Manager. Use this URL in any way you see fit, for example create a link forum to it or add it to your navbar.

An example can be seen on FreddysHouse.
