50 Cent Is Making a DC Comics Movie

Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson is developing a live-action feature based on Christopher Priest’s Xerø series from DC Comics.

The rapper and actor will produce the movie adaptation, and he also plans to spawn an entirely new franchise from it, too.

In a synopsis shared by Deadline, the movie will follow a Black government assassin who “weaponizes invisibility” by disguising himself as a white man to blend into the “Casino Royale haunts of the international elite”.

The movie will span the gap between that and the “disenfranchised city streets” of East St Louis, Illinois, and see Trane Walker live in “two worlds but taking ownership of neither”.

Speaking about the collaboration, Jackson said: “There’s no one better than Christopher Priest to bring G-Unit Film & Television into the world of comic book superheroes.”

He continued: “Watch as we build Xerø into a franchise alongside Christopher and Colour Farm Media. I can’t wait for the world to meet Trane Walker in an all new way.”

Colour Farm’s Erika Alexander added: “Priest is a master storyteller. Xerø is a powerful project, and we’re thrilled to partner with [Jackson’s] G-Unit Film & Television, the pre-eminent power players.”

Comic creator Priest discussed how his partnership with Jackson would elevate his socio-political story telling through a visual medium.

Xerø depicts a slow-moving car wreck at the intersection of race and class,” he said. “The commonality of struggle represented by the life experiences of [Jackson], G-Unit Film & Television and Color Farm assure a broad depth of first-hand appreciation for that delicate balance.

“It’s exciting to be working together to create this new world,” he added.
